Presenting and Staging Your Home Part 2

jane-field-vernon-realtor Now that you have a pretty good idea of what home staging is, you can actually have some fun doing it. For instance, why don't you set up your recreation room as a sports viewers mini paradise. First, find the most comfortable looking furniture you have in your home and arrange that furniture so that everyone gets a great view of the television screen. The bigger the television is in this room, the better. Set out television snacks and sports magazines. A buyer can readily see their friends and family enjoying this space.

Create a space in a quiet area of the home for a reading area. Select a large comfortable chair and place it under a good reading lamp. Open a book and place it reading side down on the table beside your lamp. Place a pair of reading glasses on the book. Now, what home viewer could possibly miss seeing themselves snuggled up reading a good book?

Most of us rarely use our dining room table. This is an easy place to make a display that won't interfere with your day to day living. Set up your finery complete with tablecloths, placemats and charger plates (if you don't already have them, they can be obtained inexpensively if you shop in the right type of stores). Use cloth napkins and napkin rings, set out your wine glasses and add candles or a centerpiece. Voila! The potential buyer can immediately see themselves entertaining in your home. After all, you just painted them a picture, didn't you?

In summertime you can create a cooling appearance in your bedrooms by displaying pale, fresh coloured bed covers and accessories. Add a cheerful small bouquet to the dresser in your master bedroom. If it's fall or winter, do the opposite. Choose deeper coloured, warmer looking bed covers and add reading material to the night table.

Another easy thing to do is brew fresh coffee just before the viewing is to start. Put out a plate of freshly baked cookies, even leave a note inviting them to enjoy a cookie and a coffee as your treat. It helps make the buyer feel welcome and encourages their most positive feelings while viewing your home.
